Excellent. So now, when we pound angrily on the keyboard, the computer can actually act hurt and show remorse for whatever it has done to offend us?

I honestly don't think there is a right way to use Twitter. I think each individual needs to choose their path. Unfortunately, Robert has sheep that will do what he does so....

I've gone back to the plain jane Google Reader feed (no more pretty pictures) to take advantage of the newly announced PubSubHubbub support in Google Reader shared items. Instant updates FTW! http://googlereader.blogspot.com/2009...
Well, who didn't see that coming? Activision announced in its earnings report today that StarCraft II has been delayed into 2010, while also reiterating the news about Singularity's delay. Given that StarCraft II is both a) a game that was supposed to be released in fall 2009 (which is almost a guarantee of a spring 2010 release these days) and b) a Blizzard game (which is a guarantee of multi-year delays), we're hardly shocked.
The move will coincide with the relaunch of Blizzard's Battle.net service, according to the report.
StarCraft II delayed until 2010 originally appeared on Joystiq on Wed, 05 Aug 2009 16:43:00 EST. Please see our terms for use of feeds.

Apple released another update to Leopard this afternoon, bringing the current version up to Mac OS X 10.5.8. The update comes chock full of improvements to various parts of the OS as well as security fixes, and is available as a 165MB download via Software Update.
The support doc attached to the 10.5.8 release says that it upgrades Safari to version 4.0.2 and improves the accuracy of full history search within the browser. It also fixes a problem where some screen resolutions weren't showing up in the Display pane of System prefs, improves "overall Bluetooth reliability," and addresses a mysterious, unnamed issue that "could cause extended startup times." Additionally, iCal reliability with MobileMe Sync and CalDev has been improved as well as AFP and Managed Client reliability, to name a few.

I'm not sure if there's really a market for this kind of shirt, but video game clothing shop LowRez has a new line of tees displaying boot screens from arcade machines. The store has several designs (each named after a different year -- Booting1980, Booting 1987) in various colors and sizes, for both men and women.
Other new and awesome products from LowRez, but again challenging to sell to most gamers, let alone mainstream audiences, include this Raiden Mk. II Pilot jacket (back) and hoodie (front), and these TomyTronic shirts:

Infoworld is reporting that there is a very significant memory leak in Windows 7 involving the chkdsk.exe utility which appears when... you attempt to run the program against a secondary (that is, not the boot partition) hard disk using the "/r" (read and verify all file data) parameter. The problem affects both 32- and 64-bit versions of Windows 7 and is classified as a "showstopper" in that it can cause the OS to crash (Blue Screen of Death) as it runs out of physical memory. Randall Kennedy tested the bug against a variety of different builds of the RTM Windows 7. The bug appeared in VMs, 32-bit Netbooks and 64-bit laptops. The bug also appears in Windows Explorer when you run the integrated disk check utility. In each case, the utility executed the first three stages of the test correctly using modest amounts of memory (several hundred megabytes). Then, when it entered the fourth stage (a read test), the chkdsk.exe utility's memory consumption started to climb rapidly until...

The usefulness of Twitter trending topics has declined for me personally. All too often, I see people trying to “game” or “manipulate” the system to gain popularity. To me, the whole thing is null and void if it is contrived. Now that Twitter has brought these terms to the forefront, it seems [...] Related posts:BingTweets Mashes Up Twitter Trends And Search ResultsFriendFeed Still Reigns As Conversation KingMy Twitter-Fu is Better Than Yours

It's still useful because there's nothing else like it for most users. Where else would you find what people are talking about right now? Friendfeed search is powerful but it doesn't point out the trend. Yes, trending topics is gamed and you see a lot of stupid topics often. But just looking at the screenshot above, it's informative to know why Bill Clinton/Euna Lee/Laura Ling are trending. Why Paula Abdul is being discussed, etc.

Yeah that would rock, now that I have started using FF the one thing that frustrates me is that all my searches bring up so many foreign language items.
