@Jason Try typing in portrait mode and landscape mode to see if there is a difference. Some find landscape easier.

@Tableteer the iPad is wonderful, even with its flaws. Nice features to have: webcam, pressure sens/handwriting reco, basic image editing.

Forget complaining about lack of multitasking on iPad. Where's the built in image cropping? IE zoom with snipping tool in Windows 7 wins.
