This thread (http://friendfeed.com/tad) got me to watch the news footage of the Challenger explosion for the first time since it happened. It's one of my few memories before the age of 6, but I had forgotten about the schoolteacher & all that. I was so jealous of the kids that got to be there (usually you had to be 18 to get close to the launch)...
But then afterwards those kids were all crying... it was such a shock. I don't think it even occurred to us kids that it was even possible for something to go wrong. Shuttle days were just fun days. - Lo
