We dont have netflix or anything like that so can't tell if it's a duplicate or replaces that but basically everything on amazon prime (if you have prime) is available straight to your tv including your music and apps and stuff. It's not a duplicate. I have Netflix & Hulu, they all offer different things, so having the apps on the Stick are good. My kids like watching on Prime, but their selection is crap for my tastes. It's a good doohickey. Did you pair it with a mobile device? That's pretty cool, but the app for the device is stupid. - Anika
