A few more hours left to spend with Mom before I get back to L.A. This past week has been a bit surreal. While her recovery hasn't been fast enough to suit her, it has been steady enough to be very encouraging, and hopeful for release back to her own home in a week or so (with visiting nurse support for as long as she needs it). It really helped that the staff at the facility she's in all seem sincerely caring and compassionate. The facility itself could use some more staff and better equipment. Like beds that don't need to be hand-cranked, for instance.
