quack quack "it is not my job to sit down and read peer reviewed papers because I simply haven't got the time, I haven't got the scientific expertise. What I rely on is people who have got the time and expertise to do it and write about it and interpret it. You know, I am an interpreter of interpretations" quack quack quack.....

The guy admits he doesn't know what he's writing about. That's pretty blunt. One might transcribe this as: "I spend my days getting paid to sit on my keyboard and laugh at the people who read what appears on the screen." Dunning Kruger at the extreme.

Just goes to show what an idiot the guy is. This clip is an extract from the recently aired Horizon programme "Science under attack" http://www.bbc.co.uk/program... What I found very scary is that people like that (and the editors at the Telegraph who should stopped him) are writing such uninformed bullshit day in day out! I'll never again say anything bad about peer review!

What really got my blood boiling was when the know-nothing journalist had the gall to tell the president of the Royal Society how science works and how scientists behave. It's like a blind man telling a seeing man what colors really look like.
