"I just passed my 5 year anniversary last month and it's crazy to think of the changes but also to consider that, in an online world where ideas come and go and morph on a daily basis, the core of Twitter is still the same.
I can't remember how I heard about Twitter but it was probably someone like Scoble. I immediately saw the potential but in those days it was just so quiet.
It took a few months for things to get moving (about Feb/Mar 2007) once more people joined and we started having some actual conversations.
Straight away I saw the potential for using Twitter as a broadcast medium and first mentioned my blog on my second day but it took about a month before I actually tweeted a link.
I think it's great that Twitter has largely stuck to its roots and not been tempted to reboot the service in any way."
