I bought myself a coffee maker for Christmas (the single cup pourover kind of a thing, the Aero Press) and find myself surprised that I like it black without cream and sugar. In the past, I had to add to it to take away the bitterness but good coffee prepared well is delightful. How do you like your coffee?

Recently, I've had the same experience by using this new mocha pot that I've bought. The coffee is bitter, but I really like it. So, I don't add any sugar or cream.
- حامد
Also a black, no cream and sugar coffee drinker.
- That's So CAJ!
Off to brew up a second cup!
- Derrick
Pour over or French press methods make the best coffee, no question.
- maʀtha
I'll usually have one cream and sugar cup and the other one or two will be black.

BLACK LIKE MY SOUL!
- Zamms
if it's good, i can drink it black, but out of habit/familiarity/sweet tooth, i mostly still use cream and sugar. :)
- holly #ravingfangirl
Black. Always. Although I've come to prefer a medium roast to the dark roast I "grew up" with at Peet's in my 20s and 30s.
- walt crawford
With sugar in the raw and milk.
- t-ra is ugly crying
Just black, most of the time.
- Jennifer Dittrich
With milk (kicked adding sweeteners this year).
- Stephen Mack
Black.
- Todd Hoff
black
- Mike Nencetti
Black. Like my soul.

Dammit. Zamms beat me to that. I started out using massive quantities of sugar, but when I was 18 and wanted to be a poet I decided that wasn't cool enough, so I trained myself to drink it black. And I only like dark roasts.
- laura x
Frequently.oh, and with milk and sugar.
- Pete's Got To Go
Milk and sugar, or other sweetner. Because apparently I don't drink coffee, but rather some other beverage entirely.
- Catherine Pellegrino
Also, dammit, now I want an Aero Press.
- laura x
I love my aero press
- Friar Will
Same here - like Derrick, it is the reason I started drinking my coffee black. Just so tasty from the press.
- Jennifer Dittrich
I swear it's almost like whatever I was drinking before wasn't coffee. I imagine I'll still do an occasional cream and sugar situation, but who knew it could be so good just by itself?
- Derrick
I love my Aero Press, and I swear it delivers THE BEST coffee. For Christmas, Bot's mom bought him one of those single cup coffee machines that looks like a rocket. We compared the same kind of coffee made from different coffee makers, and my Aero Press coffee tasted so much better. I think good coffee is great black and sugarless, which is how bot drinks his café. I usually do a half & half or non-dairy creamer with a lil sugar.
- AHnix (Anna Haro)
Team Inverted Method on the Aero Press. Now I get to experiment trying different kinds of beans from different roasters. This is kind of...fun. haha.
- Derrick
Black as hell, as strong as death, and as sweet as love.
- Ken Morley
^This.
- Bren
I looked it up and now I want one too! Do you generally wipe the grinds out into the trash or use the disposal?
- Christina Pikas
Grounds can be nicely composted.
- Todd Hoff
I like it *
- Mo Kargas
I eject the grounds straight into the garbage. The plunger part of it makes it easy, though I opted to pick up a stainless steel filter to use over the paper ones.
- Derrick
I really need to quit being lazy and use my french press more often. I've gotten spoiled by the Keurig's nearly instant coffee. How does Aero Press compare to French Press?
- Gunneh's Gonna Miss Y'all
I have had Aero Press coffee (Friar made it for me) and really liked it, but I can make great coffee with a drip maker, a french press or any other method. Sometimes I like it black but mostly I use a little cream. In all cases, dark roasted and brewed strong. Since I started roasting my own, it has been kind of like your Aero experience: all the coffee I had before seems like something other than coffee.
- Jim #teamFFrank
I love my aero press. And, I use far less sugar with coffee made in it than in other makers
- RudĩϐЯaЯïan
wait -- you;re saying AeroPress has a non-paper filter option??
- RudĩϐЯaЯïan
I currently am lusting after a Chemex, which is a pour over kind of thing.
- Jim #teamFFrank
This is the filter I bought: http://ablebrewing.com/collect...
- Derrick
Jim, I am too!
- Derrick
the Chemex is AMAZING. that's what i use. :)
- holly #ravingfangirl
I use a little milk and non-dairy creamer in my coffee. The combo is just sweet enough but not too sweet.
- John (bird whisperer)
I have a French press that I use to make cold brew for iced coffee in the summer. It's large though. Probably too big for just a cup or two. I'm going to try a few combos; with just milk, just sugar, etc., but I'm more excited about trying different kinds of beans for their flavor profile. I had no idea coffee could be so cool.
- Derrick
One of us!
- maʀtha
I take my coffee black. Like my men. (I also have an AeroPress but I've only ever used it for espresso because reasons :D)
