Why is this crust so white? Is it just me? Pie people?

The pictures on the crust recipe are just as white. Probably has something to do with the brand of flour used? I know it's not a feature of buttermilk pie (or wasn't for the one I had at Thanksgiving)

Hrm, maybe it's just this particular person's recipe. I saw a great video recipe for one yesterday but it was scaled up for a restaurant and was probably triple the amount of a normal 9" or so pie.

It looks like flan, but a pie. Sounds yum. (I don't know what's up with the white crust.)

That crust looks raw in the second two photos, but it seems to be a better color in the first. I'm guessing it's a photography issue.

I think someone messed with the settings too much when they edited the photo. Because as long as you have to bake a buttermilk pie, there's no way the crust won't get brown. I love buttermilk pie. It's one of my favorites.
