I don't have a coffeemaker at home, but this weekend I thought about venturing out in the ugly weather to coffee shop down the block.

Making good coffee at home is easy and cheap. A manual drip cone is about $10, or a press pot is about $30. But if you get a press pot, you need to get a grinder too.

i used to have an ikea ~$5 press pot and use pre-ground. but i'm no gourmet :)

What DJF sez (I'm all about drip cones and Trader Joe's unbleached filters). Cheap, easy, good coffee...which is indeed highly addictive, but it's a beneficial addiction.

I have a press pot I use for cold brew coffee. I imagine the process is essentially the same for a pot of hot coffee?

I just use a stovetop espresso makes, but one that can hold at least four shots. Nice ground coffee, and always served black, with a shot of Vanilla Syrup. "Black as night, sweet as sin", that's the way to go
