Knowing quite a few people in the public school systems, I’m familiar with the fact that many teachers can’t take advantage of technology tools because they can’t assume their students have a computer. On a more serious note, I can't think of a single reason to use a webcam without notification. Even in the case of stolen or missing laptops, there are much better ways of tracking down the equipment. It just screams abuse, any way you slice it. - Eric @ CS Techcast
