I have consistently said Google Glass (in the current form) was a hard sell. Pure tech isn't enough. Things need a soul. Plus, privacy.

Plus, a non-ridiculous price.

Plus of course not making you look like an utter dork #inthshower

The price is really the clincher. Most people won't put down US$1,500 for what is basically a peripheral for your phone. It needs to come down to the US$250 range and then it might have a chance.

But Google always said they kept the price artificially high on purpose. It was never meant to go mainstream in its current form.

Jason, I agree with you but it was certainly evangelised as such. Glass was a beta that got out of Google's hands and they didn;t do that much to try and pull it back in. Google may have dropped the ball but the Glassholes are the ones who stomped it into a million pieces.

The interesting question to me: Besides search has Google had a real home run?

gmail? Android? I guess Android is like a triple: massive market share but weak monetization.
