The Matterhorn (horn peak) is one of the deadliest peaks in the Alps. From 1865, when it was first climbed, to 1995, it claimed 500 lives. A majestic bit of rock that made its way from Africa, the Matterhorn is truly a remarkable peak. Each of its four sides point to the four compass points and at 14K+ feet, it is one of the highest peaks in the Alps.
