And now waiting to see if I might be fired at work. Okay, probably not but the fact I can think about it is scary. Event happened that could have negative revenue influence happened on my watch this weekend. While no one has ever been fired that I'm aware of, the event could be a big deal. I'm worried but mostly frustrated that it happened.

A preventable action that we had taken great pains to prevent still occurred. Nothing like being the place where the buck stops.

And so now I wait to see how events roll out. Only emails at this point. If the phone rings, my heart may stop. I'm already planning to attend a Wednesday weekly meeting in person that I usually call in for since it's on a day off.

And this wasn't even the issue that had me at work 3 hours after my 16 hour shift. And I wasn't tired and I thought I was being attentive. Just...<sigh>

I've been through these issues. In fact, had a pretty bad situation over the past couple of weeks. It all comes down to whether they want to address the actual problem or scapegoat it. I hope you don't get caught up in finger pointing. All the best on this.

Well, based on group email that went out earlier this morning, it appears no one is fired. :) However, I was able to provide a corrective course of action that returns focus to the proper procedure. (Ha, that's so super vague but the details aren't really important.) If I've learned one thing, it's always better to bring a solution than just a problem.

That's great that you brought a level-headed solution to the situation (and also great that no one was fired). I've been in a similar situation and you sometimes just have to let that initial wave of panic wash over you, then focus on the fix and prevention.
