It is amazing how much wedding photographers can irritate me!! It is standing out more now as I am processing photos from two weddings I attended, one with one of the few photographers that I recommend to friends and one with the most annoying wedding photographers I've ever seen at a wedding!! Both weddings were lovely, but an intrusive group of..
...photographers can really invade the guest experience at a wedding. :( - Rachel Lea Fox
:( As much as I'm sure the bride and groom want to preserve their memories in beautiful photos, I'd expect they'd want their guests to experience an unencumbered wedding! - Anne Bouey
This is why I prefer the reportage-style wedding photographers who will stay out of the way and just document the day through fly-on-the-wall photos and little or no staging of shots (outside the obligatory group ones post-ceremony that everyone seems to want). - Mark H
Mark, I've never seen anyone stage anything outside of the portraits. You have? I don't mind knowing the photographer is there and they can get in the way now and then as long as they don't stay in the way for more than a minute or so. It's a delicate balance between getting the shot and getting in the way. But three photo/video people should not surround the bride and groom; a photographer should not jump over the brides train during the ceremony, and video should not be set up INSIDE the chuppah and left there. When I used to do weddings these things would never even be considered. - Rachel Lea Fox
