"Justin, Thank you for bringing such an interesting perspective to this conversation. When you talk about wanting to directly help the individual more than the charity, I completely understand. In this world there are too many charities fighting to support the same cause, without consolidating or collaborating with fellow organisations. It's a real shame because there is a pool of talent that can be put to better use within a more long term environment where charitable work is more sustainable. I completely understand your point about wanting to ensure that people you help don't expect to be supported forever. What I find interesting when I look at the micro-finance model of Kiva is that through their platform, they are financially supporting individuals to set up business, but setting firm boundaries about expectancy for repayment of the loan.
