A realization has come upon me. Having the ability to contact people on multiple social networks is not actually an optimum way to keep up with people. Do I FB chat them? Do I Hangout chat them? Do I text them? Do I just plain old email them? Obviously, everyone is not on every service so to keep in touch you have no choice to but to spread...-->
...yourself out to accommodate them. (Unless you don't really want to keep in touch and that's a whole different post.) And therein lies the problem. If you're on a service, it seems like logical sense to be able to contact anyone you know on that service. And if you know them on all services...well, we're back to my realization. I guess I need to start figuring out how people like to be contacted and remember that preference for the future. <sigh> Kinda sounds like work.

The last time I tried to reach someone I first started with fb because the seemed active there, then I tried email when that didn't work and to date have still not received a response. Of course you start to wonder if you should cut contact altogether in those instances

Oddly enough, I have the exact opposite problem since the person who prompted this thought was someone I see fairly regularly. I might just ask next time I see them. Personally, even with smartphones and all the apps that you can run, texting is my preferred method of contact.
