People buy the strangest things. Stuff I thought would be difficult to sell went in the first 30 minutes of the garage sale. Stuff I thought would sell didn't (but fortunately all the free stuff left on the lawn has now disappeared).
The goal was to clear out stuff - not to sell so most of it is gone. So I count the "sale" successful.

Heh! That was my experience as well. Stuff I didn't think would sell did and stuff I was sure would, didn't.

...strange, yes, but didn't you buy ALL of the stuff you're now selling at your own garage sale in the first place? .LOLz!

Yeah I guess, I or my wife or kids bought some of it, some of it was given to us, some was inherited from various people but some of it was 50 years old as well. Some of it we found, some was left in the house when we moved in.

...ha! well, I think you're initial opinion is spot-on: people buy the strangest things! ;)
