I didn't think it was very effective. It just sold... searching for things, a generic task; not why Google is better than its competitors or how it stands out. It's not like people don't know who Google is, so just putting their name on the commercial didn't do anything for the brand. And what was up with the theme of moving to France? - Mark Trapp

Superbowl ads are less about promoting a product and more about a chance to imprint your company in the minds of millions of viewers. Everyone's heard of Budweiser or Coca-Cola or Volkswagen... it's about ads that stay with you after you watched them, and Google's ad succeeds at that. - Tudor Bosman
