I can't remember exactly how I ended up joining FriendFeed. I think I'd heard my old buddy Allen Stern (may he rest in peace) mention it a few times, but I don't think I actually signed up until I virtually met Holden Page, back when he and Alex Wilhelm were blogging together. How did you end up on FriendFeed?
My friend Cass told me about it. She's still got an account, and for a while there she was the only person I was really connected to on FF. We lost touch soon after I moved to NorCal.

I just remembered it wasn't Robert Scoble. I ended up on here and Twitter, Aug. 2nd, 2008 after a discussion at Triiibes.ning, which was a group of about 1000 people who pre-ordered Seth Godin's Triiibes. There was a discussion over people's Twitter handles, and some people also offered up Friendfeed.

I had seen it mentioned a few times on science blogs as an alternative to Twitter, so I decided to try out FF and Twitter at the same time (along with a few other social media services). I initially was more active on Twitter but gravitated to this place over time.

I heard about it from a friend in 2008 so I joined. At the time, I wasn't on any other social media sites.
