Just saw the new FB Timeline and don't smack me, but I like it. Just had TWiT on with Leo Laporte and he was showing off his and it looked kind of cool. I know though, people will be bitching about it. *lol*
I'm going to my hometown for a couple weeks again. There is a slight chance I might be going to Boston next weekend, but not sure. All I know is that I'll be down at my Mom's for my birthday (next Thursday). :)

I'd love to get an iPad 2, but I don't have the funding for it. A couple people in the agency I work for said I should right to Apple and ask them for a discount, since I'm visually impaired and it would be a great tool. I've been playing with my Mom's iPad and I love it. Any suggestions on any agencies that would help someone with a visual impairm
Got a new cell phone. I'm now on Verizon Wireless and one of their pay as you go type phones. I'm not interested in getting a smart phone. This phone is for emergencies.
Got to listen to Chris Franz of The Talking Heads/Tom Tom Club on the radio yesterday. He does a show from noon to 3pm on WPKN from CT. It's really cool. I'm still alive. Just been dealing with some things. I went to my hometown for a hot air balloon rally and my grandma's 92nd birthday. I'm off to Boston, MA next week with my Mom. Can't wait. :) Oh and I've lost 40 pounds (mainly due to being sick with GI issues), but I'm keeping on a diet and trying to get a good walk in everyday. :D
I'm 320 right now and my goal is to get under 300 by October.

For Mom's on my FF friends list, in two weeks from today my cousin is having a baby shower and her birthday is the day before the shower. I already have a gift I was going to give her for her baby, but I wanted to get something especially for her for her birthday. She's into yoga, relaxation and massage therapy. I didn't know what to get her.

Can I shoot my nose off? It's running one minute then stuffy the other. I feel achy, stuffy, but no fever. I know it's not the flu. I'm also coughing a lot. Bought some Halls cough drops and Dayquil AND Nightquil. I'm seeing the nurse practioner on Tuesday.
For some reason, when I'm sick (like right now have a cold) listening to Leo Laporte is soothing. Not saying he's boring, but his voice has a nice effect on me. That's why I have Twit Live on right now.

Has anyone heard of a Blissing Way and has anyone been to one? I'm asking because I was invited to one June 18th for my cousin, who is due with a little girl this October. :) Just found out about her having a girl today and the due date is the day before mine. :D
I did do some research on Blessing Way and know it's a Native American tradition celebrating the expecting mother. It sounds cool, but my Mom isn't thrilled about it. The only way I'd be able to go is to find an alternative way to get to her place. *lol* My Mom would go to the shower after it, but I want to go to the Blessing Way.

I'd post this over at FB, but my cousin, who is expecting a baby, is on there and I wanted to keep this as a surprise. I need advice on what to get her. She's into organic items and I was looking for something in the $10 to $30 range and on the small side, since she has to bring it back to her to CO.
She's coming in mid-June and we're having a baby shower for her. I didn't know what to get her. Her baby is due on October.

Question: Are driver's supposed to stop at non-lined crosswalks? I'm asking because I got screamed at by a driver today for "crossing" in front of him. I looked both ways, but people don't want to stop. I think it's very dangerous, especially since it's in front of a building that people with disabilities live at. I'm not going to walk all the way...

I wanted to scream back at that asshole. He goes, "Why don't fucking look both ways?" I did. I wanted to scream, "Why don't you fucking stop when I cross?" I didn't though, but it just ruined my good day. I hate idiot people.

From what I understand about CA driving laws, as soon as the pedestrian steps off the curb, the driver is supposed to stop. The downside as a driver is that I sometimes don't see people right away and I feel horrible for continuing through the intersection. But as a pedestrian I get angry with drivers who act like it's their god-given right to plow through crosswalks anytime, anywhere. As a side note, pedestrians who wave cars through are NOT helping anyone.

Well, I e-mailed the operations manager and the site manager of the building and the operations manager is going to look into it. And I spoke with my social worker and she is involved with the safety committee with the operations manager and she's going to mention it to him again. They need a stop sign or something to say there are disabled persons living in the apartment building. I'd hate to see one of my neighbors get hurt.
