Question: Are driver's supposed to stop at non-lined crosswalks? I'm asking because I got screamed at by a driver today for "crossing" in front of him. I looked both ways, but people don't want to stop. I think it's very dangerous, especially since it's in front of a building that people with disabilities live at. I'm not going to walk all the way...

I wanted to scream back at that asshole. He goes, "Why don't fucking look both ways?" I did. I wanted to scream, "Why don't you fucking stop when I cross?" I didn't though, but it just ruined my good day. I hate idiot people.

From what I understand about CA driving laws, as soon as the pedestrian steps off the curb, the driver is supposed to stop. The downside as a driver is that I sometimes don't see people right away and I feel horrible for continuing through the intersection. But as a pedestrian I get angry with drivers who act like it's their god-given right to plow through crosswalks anytime, anywhere. As a side note, pedestrians who wave cars through are NOT helping anyone.

Well, I e-mailed the operations manager and the site manager of the building and the operations manager is going to look into it. And I spoke with my social worker and she is involved with the safety committee with the operations manager and she's going to mention it to him again. They need a stop sign or something to say there are disabled persons living in the apartment building. I'd hate to see one of my neighbors get hurt.
