#juniorlab My sincere apologies. I am really excited by the enthusiasm I see for the arduino project. Thank you all for helping each other!
#juniorlab Thanks to all J-lab students for working hard this week, and especially today when I had to leave!
Since I'm at UNM, it's not too hard to go to the law library to look up court cases, etc. But why aren't public court cases, laws, etc. easily available to the public on the internet? It's quite similar to the BS situation with closed-access publications of publicly-funded scientific and medical research. Must change both.

Paul Graham: "What You Can't Say" - http://www.paulgraham.com/say...
"If a statement is false, that's the worst thing you can say about it. You don't need to say that it's heretical. And if it isn't false, it shouldn't be suppressed. So when you see statements being attacked as x-ist or y-ic (substitute your current values of x and y), whether in 1630 or 2030, that's a sure sign that something is wrong. When you hear such labels being used, ask why." - Steve Koch

"A carpenter, let us say, makes a door for a cabinet. If the door does not hang straight, the carpenter does not say, "I will not change that door; it is an expression of my individuality; who cares if it will not close?" Instead, the carpenter removes the door and works on it until it fits. That attitude, applied to writing, could be our salvation. If we thought more like carpenters, academic writers could find a route out of the trap of ego and vanity. Escaped from that trap, we could simply work on successive drafts until what we have to say is clear." - Steve Koch

Why bother publishing in a journal? | IheartAnthony's Research - http://research.iheartanthony.com/2012...
Scientific publishing is headed towards inevitable reform. Anthony is working from the bottom up. PLoS is working from the top down. Lots of others in between. Most of us have the power to work from the bottom up, so why not join Anthony, Mark, others? - Steve Koch
