Kicks and Stomps, which launched yesterday, is an immersive, animated content experience masquerading as a $2.99 children’s reading app for the iPad that has more in common with a Hollywood movie, in terms of its development, than it does with a typical ebook. The interactive app is one part book and three parts cartoon. In it, the reader follows a group of talking shoes from the closet where they meet, through the rescue of a trapped puppy, and through the adventure of leaving the house for the first time, then trying to find their way back home. - Tom Himpe
