We still have some snow on the ground, but it's supposed to get into the 50s by mid-week. Considering it was 6 on Friday, I'd say the change of seasons has begun for us, too. I'm not sure how my body will cope with the 50 degree temperature shift, though.

One again that thing where you forget to shut off your Runkeeper until long after you're finished. Eh. It was for a good reason! :) My running partner started to go into intense dehydration a mile before the finish so once I got her over the finish line my only focus was getting her seated, hydrated, and seen by the paramedics. I forgot about my phone and my Surge until someone asked me for the time like 20-30 mins later. lol

I'm wayyyyyyy too excited about the fact that I just bought my brother and his fiancée all of their barware on their registry. I keep coming up with ideas about what to bundle with all those martini, rocks, highball, pint, and wine glasses. SO MANY FUN OPTIONS.

Trying to find a nice way to tell my mom that there's no way I'm going to find us two round-trip tickets to NYC for less than $500. Whatever pricing anomaly that her and my dad hit last year that netted them that experience is not going to happen for us this time.
OK y'all, the NYC chapter of Team in Training is already blowing me away. These people are magnificent. This is the passion and spirit I expected. I don't think I'll ever go back to my local marathon team again. <3
reminds me of a road trip i once took with an ex. this is what we (repeatedly) sang as we drove through New Jersey on our way back to Brooklyn from Bethesda. this and "Brass Monkey".

I sometimes get folks who ask if I have any goal races. I actually have a whole race bucket list, and New York City is definitely on it. Sometimes it feels weird to be able to cross a race off my bucket list. They all still seem like unattainable dreams to me. <3
10. (pausing because I can't find my list and I am so souped up on NYC Marathon adrenaline right now, I can't remember 10 at all...AT ALL...)

Well I didn't get in through the lottery for the New York City Marathon. BUT. I found out how to register through Team in Training instead. GUESS WHO'S GOING TO NEW YORK, BABY!
I'm sorry. "Majority rules" is a terrible argument for why we should not allow a Muslim cashier to decline scanning in pork products when we've given Christian faiths a wide berth for so many centuries. What is this, junior high prom committee?
And now someone is comparing personal freedom of religion to Hobby Lobby. I would say that I can't even but clearly I still can because I am still responding. Waiting for the right moment to drop a meme image and bow out.

Yay! Six months of chronic Achilles issues and finally got my butt to the doctor for a formal diagnosis. Thankfully it is only tendinitis as I'd hoped and the doctor is sending me to physical therapy. But the best part of all...........I CAN KEEP RUNNING! Don't even have to stop for PT. :)
