Holy Hell, CNN sucks. I've been watching for the past 45 minutes for coverage on the DADT repeal and they've had maybe 10 minutes of news, the rest is all commercials. FOX news isn't much better, the two times I flipped over they were showing a gold commercial and having a 9-11 remembrance. Way to be relevant network news!

Making no-bake butterscotch peanut butter oatmeal cookies. The recipe calls for chocolate but I prefer butterscotch.

Financial Advice: Say you have $100k you want to put in to a safe, reasonable-yield financial instrument for 12 months. What would choose? Do these even exist? In previous times I'd think CDs, but interest rates are so ridiculous at the moment one might as well stash their money under their mattress.
My 18 year old niece was suddenly informed she's getting an inheritance at the end of the month. She wants me to help her handle the cash, and I just want to stash it somewhere for awhile so it doesn't get spent willy-nilly while we're making a plan. - veo
I can't think of anything for a full year, but an online saving's account will generally be better than most traditional bank's cd. And you can pull the cash out anytime, once you have found even a better temporary home. And unlike you mattress it's fdic insured. - Dario Gomez

Gah. So even though the roads are passable in seattle, the car just happens to be stranded on one of the iciest, steepest, most out of the way, least traveled roads in the city. Temps are supposed to be above freezing tomorrow so MAYBE we'll be able to bus over to it and get it free by thanksgiving evening. :(

Just received my square point-of-sale card reader and did a test purchase with myself. Holy Crap! This is awesome. Simple, Sleek, Easy. You can itemize purchase items (with a photo per item, if you want), add a tip, send a reciept to the buyer via email.
