The day that I can remember the difference between "mean" and "median" and not need to look it up online to double-check will be a glorious day indeed. (I'm always right but I'm always doubtful.)
"Most of us start our mornings with a fresh, hot cup of coffee or tea to warm our bodies after getting out of bed. When we drink water, we tend to prefer it cold, but according to Ayurvedic medicine, we have it all wrong. Regularly drinking very warm water, especially in the morning, can heal our bodies, providing digestive power and reducing metabolic waste that could have built up in our immune system."

And now the question of the day...do I shovel the driveway now our wait until it slows down? I well have to leave by 7pm, so I'm thinking multiple light shoveling sessions.
"Research conducted by the University of Alberta in Canada has found that health benefits in resveratrol, a compound found in red wine, are equivalent to those that we get from exercise."

I need to schedule a couple workouts after work, I think. :)

I should be extremely cut by now, if that were true.

"People are seeing the dress in varying colors due to the different ways in which they perceive colors. As a result, some are seeing it as white and gold, while others are seeing it as blue and black. Some see it as both. Others are struggling to see it as blue and black. A few people have told me they can't see it as white and gold at all. The actual dress is black and blue. Like many, initially, I could only see the ubiquitous dress in gold and white. After a minor tweak in how I was focusing on the image, I finally saw the dress as black and blue. Now, I see it as all four colors interchangeably."

I'm not trying to beat a dead horse but I finally saw this dress as black and blue by scrolling from the bottom to the top. And when the whole dress was in view, it changed back to "gold" and "white". Very strange.

I would not be surprised to find someone like this. Truly.

Gah, speaking of stickers why are people still using those cheapo ones that only come off partially when trying to remove them? Like only the top layer comes off leaving the sticky part behind. I hate those damn things, should be banned. (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻

Blogger versus Wordpress for personal blog. Discuss amongst yourself while I get some tea and try and decide which of my old, rarely used blogs (http://iphwin.blogspot.com/ and https://iphwin.wordpress.com/) I should start back up to do some life journaling. Or perhaps leave them behind and start something new somewhere else.
"The Federal Communications Commission approved the policy known as net neutrality by a 3-2 vote at its Thursday meeting, with FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler saying the policy will ensure "that no one — whether government or corporate — should control free open access to the Internet.""

And in a totally random life update, we're finally getting to an optometrist tomorrow to update our prescriptions (glasses and contacts). While it's been nice to have my glasses as a backup, I REALLY miss my contacts and having more normal peripheral vision. All this head turning to see stuff is tiring! :D
I don't recall when I last felt in control of my life. I am fortunate that I am not struck with major health/financial issues. Unfocused and floundering is roughly how I feel more often than not. This is more of a journal entry than an attempt at attention. Sometimes you just have to get the words down and out of your head to let new ones in.
Well, at least the week has shifted from "lack of control" to "OMG, I have so much to do!". I suppose I will take the Elephant Diet approach to it all: one bit at a time. :)

"A single Japanese giant hornet (Vespa mandarinia japonica) can kill forty honeybees a minute. A small group of them can decimate an entire bee colony. The hornet’s scissor-like teeth can wreak havoc on their prey so swiftly that Japanese honeybees had to adapt to survive."

A realization has come upon me. Having the ability to contact people on multiple social networks is not actually an optimum way to keep up with people. Do I FB chat them? Do I Hangout chat them? Do I text them? Do I just plain old email them? Obviously, everyone is not on every service so to keep in touch you have no choice to but to spread...-->
...yourself out to accommodate them. (Unless you don't really want to keep in touch and that's a whole different post.) And therein lies the problem. If you're on a service, it seems like logical sense to be able to contact anyone you know on that service. And if you know them on all services...well, we're back to my realization. I guess I need to start figuring out how people like to be contacted and remember that preference for the future. <sigh> Kinda sounds like work.

The last time I tried to reach someone I first started with fb because the seemed active there, then I tried email when that didn't work and to date have still not received a response. Of course you start to wonder if you should cut contact altogether in those instances
- FriendFeedForever
Oddly enough, I have the exact opposite problem since the person who prompted this thought was someone I see fairly regularly. I might just ask next time I see them. Personally, even with smartphones and all the apps that you can run, texting is my preferred method of contact.

"The Blackwing pencil was introduced in the 1930′s by Eberhard Faber and was the pencil of choice for Oscar, Grammy, and Pulitzer Prize winners throughout the 20th century. After it was discontinued in the 1990′s, fans began paying as much as $40 per pencil to seize unused stock. In 2010, Palomino, whose industry roots were planted over a century ago, revived the Blackwing to much critical acclaim."

I'm trying to decide if I use pencils enough to justify getting a $22 box of 12 from Amazon or not. Soooo tempting.
