When I changed my Gmail theme to the G+ looking one it renamed the "mark as spam" button to just "spam", which is great. Now I don't think of it as adding the spammer to a blacklist, I imagine myself spamming said spammer back... which makes me oddly happy :D

Baled Out: Cow-Created Concrete Home Interior Completed | Designs & Ideas on Dornob - http://dornob.com/baled-o...
Weird -- "And where did the cow come in? “To empty the interior, the calf Paulina arrived, and enjoyed the 50m3 of the nicest food, from which she nourished for a year until she left her habitat, already as an adult and weighing 300 kilos. She had eaten the interior volume, and space appeared for the first time, restoring the architectural condition of the truffle after having been a shelter for the animal and the vegetable mass for a long time." - Ross Miller

Why does the caveman hate Geico? I don't get it....
"It's so easy even a Caveman can do it." That was the tag line. Geico insults Caveman intelligence. Hilarity ensues. You. Must. Laugh. [Or so says Madison Avenue.] - AJ Kohn
Interesting... well... maybe they should throw the original ad back into the rotation or something. If one of the commercials I saw had that line in it I think it would make a lot more sense... Instead all I see is a newscaster caveman who acts like a complete tool whenever Geico comes up and I have no idea why. No funny. No laugh. Just ??? - Ross Miller
"I've had the misfortune of needing to interact with a lot of voice mail systems over the years, and what I want to know is, why have I not seen one that has a default mode of operation that is that simple? Two clicks. DONE. No, I don't fucking want to remember what multi-key sequence deletes messages. No, I don't fucking want to have to press a button before each message to get it to actually play. And no, I don't fucking want to have to delete every one of them explicitly after listening to them. Just play all the god damned messages, and then throw them the hell away, you bastard infernal machine!" - Ross Miller

""It's like bringing electricity to the Tennessee Valley" in the early twentieth century, he said. (EPB was founded in 1935.) Before power arrived, there were limited applications for it, but stringing power lines to every home and businesses provided a huge boost to the local economy and spurred all kinds of additional use. Just as with electrification, EPB has decided to run fiber to every home and business, including the third of its customers outside the city, because the benefits of fiber connections don't decline with population density." - Ross Miller

How SmugMug survived the Amazonpocalypse « SmugMug's Don MacAskill - http://don.blogs.smugmug.com/2011...
"There’s a lot of noise on the net about how cloud computing is dead, stupid, flawed, makes no sense, is coming crashing down, etc. Anyone selling that stuff is simply trying to get page views and doesn’t know what on earth they’re talking about. Cloud computing is just a tool, like any other. Some companies, like Netflix and SimpleGeo, likely understand the tool better. It’s a new tool, so cut the companies that are still learning some slack." - Ross Miller
The PhD problem: are we giving out too many degrees? - http://arstechnica.com/science...
RT @friendfeed: And we're back! We apologize for the outage.
The situation: The wall mount you bought doesn't attach firmly to the back of your TV because the screws they sent are too long and hit the end of the hole in the TV before they are tight. Also the head of the screw is so small it goes right through the intended hole in the bracket making it useless. Do you....
Return to Amazon and find a better wall mount OR go to the hardware store and find better screws even though you are questioning the quality of the wall mount in general? - Ross Miller
My amazon wall mount was same issue. And I bought 3! I got new screws. But then ALSO decided to open one wall (the heaviest tv) and put metric tons of backing in. Then repair drywall repaint wall then hang tv. Sooooo returning it might've been quicker easier. But eh, that tv ain't going nowhere in a hurry. - Lnorigb
